Shelford Road Junction is one of the main access points leading in to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Cambridgeshire County Highways required our client to complete S278 works to the signalised junction prior to occupation of new buildings on Phase 2 of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The potential for major diversions of utilities e.g. Water, MP Gas, HV electric, BT Fibre Optics, Traffic signals etc posed a major risk. PDI managed and coordinated with all service providers to programme and within budget. Our client – Countryside Properties had the following to say:
I would like to say a collective thanks to you all for your efforts over the past 6 months or so to ensure that we have completed the S278 Works at Shelford Road on time. It was vitally important to us that these works were completed ahead of occupation of the new Abcam HQ building.
We faced a number of challenges with the S278 works, especially around services in the early days which could have resulted in substantial cost and programme implications if they had not been resolved. Your collective efforts in working together and with County Highways and Utility companies to resolve all of these issues is greatly appreciated.”
